About Us

Meet Dr. Abbas

Welcome – I’m Dr. Zargham Abbas

As a child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist serving the greater Houston area, my mission is to provide compassionate, culturally responsive care that helps young people and their families feel seen, heard, and supported.

I believe mental health care should be accessible, stigma-free, and tailored to the emotional and developmental needs of every child. That’s why I approach every case with warmth, thoughtfulness, and collaboration — because meaningful care begins with a genuine connection.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside countless children, teens, and families as they navigate challenges, build resilience, and grow. Whether supporting emotional well-being, academic performance, or social development, I aim to help my patients thrive.

My training reflects a lifelong commitment to understanding the human mind and fostering healing. I completed my General Psychiatry residency at the University of Missouri–Kansas City (UMKC), while also studying psychodynamic principles at the Greater Kansas City Psychoanalytic Institute. I then pursued specialized fellowship training in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry at Duke University, where I also completed the Medical Education Leadership Track — affirming my dedication to teaching, mentorship, and academic leadership.

I’m an active member of the American Psychiatric Association (APA) and the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP), and I continue to stay engaged with the latest evidence-based approaches in the field.

If you or your loved one is looking for a safe, respectful, and empowering space to begin the journey toward emotional wellness — I’m here to help.
